Olympiad Level-2 Admit Cards Released: Know Important Guidelines, Date & Time, Exam Pattern


Dear Students,

Thousands of congratulations for qualifying for level 2 NSO, IEO and IMO. Your hardwork paved the way to level 2 of Olympiad exams.
As you all know the Level-2 exam date has already been disclosed which is 9th Feb 2020. Science Olympiad Foundation has released the admit cards for all three exams i.e. NSO, IEO and IMO Level -2.
Admit cards, in duplicate, are made available to students as under:
  • Students may download the admit card directly from the official website.
  • These will be couriered/emailed to respective schools
  • Students may also use the admit cards issued to them for 1st level exams. They may write to SOF at info@sofworld.org OR result@sofworld.org for the address of exam center.
  • Students may collect their admit cards (in duplicate) by either of the above modes, paste their color passport size photographs on all copies and get them attested (signed and stamped) by school authorities.

GUIDELINES - 2ND LEVEL OLYMPIADS

IEO / NSO / IMO

The second level Olympiads will be conducted on Sunday 9th February 2020 as per the following schedule:


General

  • Separate set of admit cards must be carried for each 2nd level Olympiad for which students have qualified.
  • Students are not be allowed to appear in the exam in the absence of attested admit cards with the photograph.
  • Students must report at the exam center at least 30 minutes before the commencement of exam.
  • Students will not be allowed entry in the exam hall 10 minutes after commencement of exam. No extra time will be provided to such candidates to complete the exam.
  • Students are advised to reach at exam center at least 15 minutes before the exam.
  • Students may leave the exam hall only after completion of exam time. Students will not be allowed to leave the exam hall while the exam is in progress, without the permission of the invigilator.
  • Parents/guardians will not be allowed entry in the exam centers.
  • The exams will be pen and paper exams with multiple choice questions. There will be no negative marking.
  • A student qualifying for the 2nd level does not need to re-register for the 2nd level. Admit cards will be sent/shared as per admit card details shared above.
  • Students may use the question paper for doing rough work.
  • Students are not allowed to carry textual material - printed or written, bits of paper, calculator, mobile phone, any electronic device etc. in the exam hall.
  • Admit cards and pen/pencil only will be permitted in the exam hall.
  • Any candidate found using unfair means may be expelled from the examination center. In case use of unfair means is found after the exam is over, the student(s) may be disqualified and will no longer be eligible for any award or certificate.

SOF Declared IEO 2019 Result



Science Olympiad Foundation declared result of IEO 2019 on December 3, 2019. The result is published online and is accessible on official website www.sofworld.org. IEO Level 1 was held on October 10, 15 and November 5, 2019 across thousands of schools in India and International Counties. Lakhs of students from class 1 to 12 were appeared for IEO 2019 Level 1.
Foundation had separate papers for all three dates of the exam. As per the students and parents of these students the level of IEO was challenging as compared to school exams. They enjoyed writing exam.
Science Olympiad Foundation declared the cutoff marks for class 3 to 12. Student who scored more than the cut off marks will appear for the Level 2 Exam to be held on Sunday, 9th February 2020. The centers of exam will be allotted by Foundation. There is no Level 2 exam for Class 1 and Class 2. Their international rank will be decided based on their performance in Level 1 only.

Pattern of IEO Level 2 :


Criteria for getting rank in IEO Level 2 :

In case of level 2 exams, ranks will be accorded on the following criteria:
Total Marks scored in level 2 exam.
In case two or more students score same number of marks, ranks will be determined on following criteria:
  1. Marks scored in sections in level two exam accorded higher priority.
  2. Total marks scored in Level one exam.
  3. Marks scored in sections, in level one exam, accorded higher priority.
In case two or more students score same marks under all the categories above, they will be awarded the same rank.

Syllabus of IEO Level 2

There is no difference in the syllabus of Level 1 and Level 2 of IEO. As per the information available on official website of Science Olympiad Foundation, the syllabus is same.

What to Study for IEO Level 2

Congratulations to all these students who made it to Level 2. The journey was a little easy during level 1. But the competition is getting tougher in Level 2 as all these students are merit students with whom you will be competing.
Students are advised to go through the study material that they used in Level 1 once again thoroughly. The International Mathematics Olympiad or IMO is a Mathematics competition organized each year by Science Olympiad Foundation, SOF for students studying in class 1 to class 12. This exam is conducted to identify and encourage the Mathematical temperament among the students in India and abroad. Participating in IMO Olympiad have plenty of benefits. IMO Olympiad Question Paper

IMO Olympiad 2018 is going to be conducted this year on 4th, 13th and 18th December. If you are appearing for this competition, then you must start your preparation first and foremost by knowing the syllabus and pattern  of the IMO Olympiad. In this article, we are bringing you section-wise preparation tips of IMO Olympiad Question paper. IMO is an objective-type written test with a duration of 60 minutes. It includes 35 objective-type questions for classes 1 to 4 and 50 objective-type questions for classes 5 to 12. The question paper for all classes is divided into 4 sections:
  1. Logical Reasoning
  2. Mathematical Reasoning
  3. Everyday Mathematics
  4. Achievers’ Section

Logical Reasoning

The logical reasoning section of IMO is designed to test the mental ability and logical skills of the candidates. The questions of this section are meant to awaken your mind!
These are NOT direct questions which require you to recall the formula, solve the problem after applying it and reach to the answer. These questions test candidates analysis, logical aptitude and general intellect. These questions are mainly in the form of Geometrical shapes, numbers pattern, mirror & water images, coding and decoding etc. Hence, to solve such type of questions, the most important thing is familiarity with the content. Therefore, You are advised to practice with Reasoning Workbooks  for class 1 to 10. You will get benefit immensely with this book as by attempting questions of each type you will be able to interpret patterns, number sequences or the relationships between shapes. Logical Reasoning

Mathematical Reasoning

This section tests the Mathematical skills of the candidates which require rigorous practice and patience. It contains questions mainly from Geometry, Number system, Fractions, Probability, Money and Data Interpretation, etc. Therefore, to excel in this section, you need to be good at Mathematical concepts  and calculations.
